oc Outlier Crosstab Narrow tools for Jira

oc · software studio · tools for Jira

Narrow tools that answer one question about your board. And show what they counted.

Outlier tells the standup what is unusual on the board this morning. Crosstab adds up story points, hours or any number field across two axes, and says what it left out. Both run on Atlassian's own infrastructure, and nothing they read leaves Atlassian.1

The tools

Every tool here is a question you already ask on Monday.

Each one answers its question and nothing else. The ladder under it says how far it has got: the same four steps for every tool.

No. 01 · one dashboard gadget

What is unusual on the board this morning?

Outlier raises the few tickets that are unusual for your board, measured against its own history. Or it says there is nothing, and what it looked at.

Free up to 10 users. Above that, per licensed user on your Jira site: a 50-user site pays $22.50 a month, a 1,000-user site $195 a month.4

No. 02 · five dashboard gadgets

How much is where, and what was left out?

Crosstab totals story points, hours or any number field across two axes, with margins that add up, and counts the issues it could not add.

Not on the Marketplace yet. The demo runs in your browser on an invented board of 4,789 issues.5

No. 03

Not announced.

Its question goes here once it has been asked, built and measured on a real board.

The same in every tool

Three rules. Each with the line where the tools say it.

It prints what it looked at.

No figure without what it was counted from. A number with no denominator is a number to argue with.

looked at 109 items · 14 in flight · watching 2 columns2 1,737 issues carry no Story point estimate, and add nothing to the total.3

Nothing about a person.

A total broken down by a person is a metric about them. These tools do not make one.

There is no field named for a person anywhere in the schema.6 No axis can be a person. Not assignee, not reporter, not creator, not any user field.7

Nothing leaves Atlassian.

There is no server of ours for your data to pass through.

Nothing here runs on anything of ours. There is no vendor backend.8 The manifest declares no external host.1

Measured, not promised

A tool that speaks every morning gets muted by Friday.

So Outlier measures how often it has something to say, and prints it. Six boards, not a study.

For whoever approves the purchase

One trust page for every tool. It prints as an answer sheet for your questionnaire.
